Vegetative State of Consciousness and Stem Cells

My brother is in a vegetative state of consciousness after suffering a pulmonary embolism. He is awake and aware but unresponsive. He can not speak and moves minimally. It was suggested that he be given SE2 in his feeding tube. Might stem cells help him? If so, how much should he take?
